Im thinking of You is an exhibition project based on a mutual artistic exchange between Poland and Finland. Polish artists representing the Pracownia Wschodnia Gallery will travel to Finland to present works referring to Finnish life and culture, while artists associated with the Huuto Gallery will visit Poland in February next year to present works exploring Polish life and society.

 

The project encourages participants to move beyond stereotypes and to reflect on what it means to truly get to know the life of “the other”. Even when we grasp fragments of history or carry deeply ingrained cultural images, much remains unknown to us. The exhibition focuses on microhistories – small, personal narratives that rarely appear in textbooks but can be explored through artistic practice.

 

We are driven by curiosity, inquisitiveness and the myths we harbour about ourselves. The exhibition is meant to serve as a starting point for dialogue: discovering shared symbols, reflecting on misunderstandings and occasionally laughing at our own assumptions. At its core, “I'm Thinking of You” is about seeing oneself through the eyes of another – a process of letting go of prejudices and getting to know oneself from a slightly more distant, trans-Baltic perspective.
