Quiet Video Booth is a project presented during the SWAB art fair in Barcelona, offering a non-commercial space dedicated to monochrome, soundless video works. A small, darkened room allows for a moment of retreat from the surrounding bustle and the saturation of visual and verbal stimuli typical of an art fair environment. The installation brought together works by artists associated with Pracownia Wschodnia and invited guests, while remaining open to collaboration with other collectives and arts organisations.
Conceptually, the Quiet Video Booth project explored the power and resonance of the silenced image. Employing reduction as an artistic strategy, it proposed a form of minimalism that could exist within the dense and highly stimulating context of an art fair.
Project co-financed by the NetWorks programme, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Project support: Polish Institute in Madrid.
