Granice, bagna, mrozy [Borders, Marshes, Frosts]
Radek Skrzypczyk

In 2017 groups of refugees from Chechnya gathered at the Polish border in Brest, trying to find political asylum in our country. Mainly women with children fleeing persecution and torture by Ramzan Kadyrov's regime. During that crisis I ran sculpture workshops with the refugees in Belarus. The exhibition includes, among other things, works that are the result of our joint activities from that period.

The current crisis on the border adds another chapter to this story. The strip of no man's land, the situation of being trapped in a geopolitical crevice, forms the topography of the exhibition.

A story of confinement in an existential and political vacuum, surrounded by aggressive or indifferent and dehumanising propaganda.
